I haven't had my period for a good three and a half months now. I've always been sporratic and irregular, but no worries - I'm perfectly healthy.
What I was wondering is, is there any way to encourage ovulation so my period will come? Excersize, heating pads, what have you...? Sorry if that's a crazy question, but the longer my period takes to arrive the moodier I become. My PMS cost me a wonderful relationship already, and a lot of friendships are going down the drain...

medroxy progesterone

You can only get this with a prescription from your doc, but it will cause you to begin your menses. Actually, it's the cesation of the drug that causes your menses to start. First, check to make sure you are not pregnant (your doctor will do this before he/she prescribes the med). Usually, women are started on a five day course of progesterone, after the fifth dose one can expect their period to begin in the next two to seven days. You may, however, want to have your hormone levels checked...lack of menstruation can be a symptom of some reproductive issues/problems. Hope this helps!

um... a little more generic than the last suggestion, but i know of two things that might do the trick. first, BC pills basically put you on a timer, so you'd know when to expect everything. second, a company in germany makes a product called 'Agnolyt,' which is the distiled extract of chasteberries. for some reason, it regulates the female hormones in your body, evening out periods, and dampening flow and cramps. it also helps with the emotional aspects of PMS. to look it up on the net, it's under two names: Agnolyt and Vitex, both made from the extract of chasteberries.

hope you find something to help. 8)

A variety of herbs also help -- raspberry, dong qai (I'm sure I spelled that wrong), pennyroyal, etc... Of course, if you do take the tea of one of them, please make sure it doesn't interfere with any meds you're on. Herbs should be treated like any other medication.

(Also, NEVER EVER EVER TAKE THE ESSENTIAL OIL OF PENNYROYAL. Only drink it as a tea. The essential oil is deadly in small amounts [and has been fatal to women before], but it takes 100 gallons of the tea to reach the same lethal effect.)
