when your pregnant do you still have your normal period?

i know its a stupid question but im so clueless
thanks to anyone that can answer this for me =]

No, you don't. Sometimes a woman will have a really light period, called "spotting."

it's very rare, but some women have a full blown period for the first two or three months after conception.

no. if you do bleed while you are pregnant, it may be a sign that you are losing the baby.

My mom didn't realize she was pregnant with me until the fourth month because she continued to have her period every month. It was a little lighter and her cramps weren't quite as bad, but it wasn't enough of a change for her to think she was pregnant.

Could that be heriditary I wonder?

Definitely still take the test. As a couple people have said, usually people do not have more than a little bit of spotting, but a few women have 2, 3, or even 4 months of menstrual flow after conception. Also, as someone else said, it could be a problem with the fetus. Anytime there's something funky going on with menstruation you should take a pregnancy test (if you're sexually active) and/or see a doctor.
