"Birth control pills should not be taken by pregnant women. There is no evidence, however, that the pill can damage a developing child."

:)

Because I've seen it come up every now and then, either here or another community, and I just read this now (but already knew there was no proof of harm to the baby) and thought I should post this.

Oh, I got this from my Tri-cyclen instructions by the way. :)

NOTE:
Pregant women should not take birth control and should stop taking it as soon as they realize they are indeed pregnant. However, in the EVENT one finds out she is pregnant, her baby won't turn into an alien.
That's all I'm saying. Ive just heard a lot of hoopla about people saying how DANGEROUS it is to get pregnant while on the pill (while it's not supposed to happen there are 1-2% of cases where it does indeed happen...)

Other than still taking pills because you don't know you are pregnant, why would one want to keep taking them?

I guess I might be uninformed but Why would a pregnant woman need to take birth control pills....they are already pregnant so it's to late for that and when you are pregnant you don't get a normal period you "spot" sometimes. So what is the need?

a story.

my friend and his little brother are birth control babies. one was concieved while mom was on the pill, and she didnt know she was pregnant for atleast two months...my friend has a lazy eye.
his mom had a depo shot and still got pregnant, so the little brother has a lazy eye too.
she has two older children who were concieved naturally while not on any sort of BC. no lazy eyes there.

so i dunno if its just a coincidence or what that both BC babies are lazy eyed or what. but i always found it intresting.

Lazy eyes, if caught early enough, can often be corrected under proper direction of an optometrist. While I am unsure as to whether or not the taking of the pills caused the tendency in those children to have lazy eyes, it still is not as if it is a completely incurable syndrome; I would only be worried, personally, if the "deformation" so to speak is a little more drastic.
