Hi all you smart people, I need some help...

I'm fourteen years old and I've been perioding for 2 1/2 years now. My period that I am currently on was 20 days late but it finally came on the Friday the 13th of August. That was all fine and dandy, I was glad it finally came.

Well. I'm not so happy now. The past week I have been wearing night pads and going through those in 2-3 hours and I was getting the hugest clots. Like the size of strawberries.

I'm still bleeding and it's 10 days later. Today, I am going thorough Super tampons in 30 minutes. I have one clean pair of pyjama pants. Help. I am so upset and irritated and I have hardly slept.

Don't tell me to use cups when you answer though, because that isn't an option this period. Should I go to the doctor?

BTW: x-posted to vaginapagina... I need some help.

If you have any concerns, certainly mention it to your doctor.

I dunno, I never had problems like that before - then again I'm not 14 yet and don't have your body.

If you're that concerned you should talk to your doctor - but I think it's quite natural.

If you feel like losing so much blood is causing you any averse symptoms (fatigue, dizziness etc), I would definately see a doctor. I agree that it may be a while before your body hits its rhythm, but if you are miserable, a doc may be able to help you.

It's normal to have some fluctuation in your periods. Your bleeding sounds rather excessive, though. At 14 my periods were heavy and painful but not for more than 7 days. You don't mention if you're sexually active -- whether you are or not, please get to a doctor and tell him or her how late your period was and how long you've been bleeding.

This could be normal for you, but it is better to be safe than sorry. Tell a parent or call the doctor yourself.

Going through a super tampon within 30 minutes is a problem. The generally recommended "heavy enough that you need to go to the doctor's" is if you fill a super tampon or a super pad in less than two hours. You should definately see a doctor first thing Monday morning unless you start to feel truely sick - in which case you need to go to the ER right away.

I second that a super tampon in 30 minutes is enough to call your doctor about...

dont worry

just talk to mom and dr and make sure

Go to the doctor! That sounds like way too much blood to be losing.
