sick

I just started taking estrostep-fe a week ago. Now, I knew ahead of time that I would have some side effects such as upset stomache, dizzyness, blurry vision.

Well I've had all of that everyday. I keep taking it like I'm supposed to, but it's making me SICK. I was so sick this morning that I missed a class. This really sucks.

So, any tips on how to deal with the upset stomach? That seems to be my main problem. I've tried chewing mint and using heating pads, but it doesn't seem to be working. Should I tell my gyno about how icky I feel or is this normal?

Also, if I want to change what time I take my pill, how do I go about doing that? I can't find any info on it. I take it at 11pm and I would rather take it at 5pm.

Thank you so much in advance.

edit Just to clarify, by sick I mean insane amounts of nausea. I haven't thrown up, but I've gotten pretty darn close.

When you say sick, what are you going through , i.e. headaches, nausea, etc?

I take estrostep, and I used to get VERY sick to my stomach every morning. Because I was taking it at around 10:00 every night, I decided to switch and take it first thing I wake up every morning, around 5-ish.

My advice: try switch to taking the pill every morning when you first get up and do the switch-off over the weekend (take one at 11 on Friday, and then whenever you get up in the morning Saturday)

Hope that helps some.

I just started the same thing but the only side effect I am having is drowsiness, thus far. I have tried other pills, like Alesse-and that made me really nauseous. Ortho-tricyclen didn't affect me negatively, but didn't make my menstrual cycles better-they are heavy and painful.
What I am getting at here is that we have to find which pill works for us. If you don't start to feel better soon, call your doctor.
Are you taking it at night or in the morning? I would try to take it at night and see if it makes a difference.
Good luck!

you are taking a pill with iron (hence the name estrostep "FE") and i suspect that might be causing some of your symptoms. iron tends to cause some unpleasant side effects when you take it as a supplement. i suggest you switch to a pill without iron and just try to include more iron in your diet.

p.s. it might help to take it around when you are eating dinner so you won't be on an empty stomach. that helps with a lot of medications to reduce nausea
