i'm sorry if this is a stupid question, but what is a woman supposed to do if she miscarries? do you have to go to the hospital or doctor?

she should go see someone. Its to make sure that there is nothing left over in the uterus. . .this can cause a really nasty infection.

The woman should see someone just to be sure all of the tissue is out. Its not always necessary to have a D&C or another procedure, and some women even find it therapeutic to help their body naturally miscarry, rather than letting the doctor take care of it.

if you are having serious bleeding you'll definitely need to go in asap, probably to an ER. when mine started i was in so much pain that i had to go to the ER. i had my mc naturally, and now i regret doing that. i wish i would have had a d&c rather than bled like i did however that's a personal choice.

either way you need to see a doc to make sure you're okay. it can be quite traumatic on the body. i would say if you aren't soaking a pad in an hour, and aren't in severe pain, you can wait it out and go see a doctor. however, if you are losing alot of blood or having alot of pain - i'd go to the hospital. it's better to be safe than sorry.

good luck.
