In the past I've been on a med that caused lack of menstration. I went off it and everything works fine but now am being put back upon the med and can't get around that. I was wondering if anyone knew of any dangers in going long term without a period. Like years. I can't help but feel that my fears of going without a period are being over looked by my male doctors.

Not really. In fact, it's often prescribed for endometriosis, and other problems. Seasonale has been put out now to avoid getting a period, and I myself did it for years before losing health insurance.

You know, I used to wonder that too, but if you think about it, it wasn't until recently that women have been having periods EVERY month for years & years. Women used to be married in their early teens and would be almost constantly pregnant until they died (which was pretty young compared to the average 70-some year life span of the typical woman). So really, it's not HARMFUL to your body to not have a period all of the time. The only real side effect that I know of is the EVIL MONSTER PERIOD when you finally do go off the drug & continue your cycle as it should be.
