Okay, now...I might be posting in the wrong place, but I need some advice/help/whathaveyou.

First time boyfriend and I had sex = August 21st.
First birth control PILL taken = August 22nd.
I was on Depo Provera before taking the pill but decided to switch because it's more convenient for me to take the pill while I'm at college.

Problem is...
I was supposed to start my period about 2 days ago.
It hasn't started yet.
This makes me kinda...nervous and scared and I don't know what to do.
Should I wait it out a few days or should I go to a clinic and get tested?

I'm getting period cramps and all that.
I should mention that before I was put on the pill, I had my period for a month straight and never figured out what it was.

My cycle IS different, seeing as when I was on depo, I didn't have a period at all. I didn't use backup because I wasn't thinking, but I was on this pill before I switched to depo the first time. I used to have my period after I was a third into the pink pills.

how recently did you switch back to the pill? that could be one reason for being late. it takes your body a while to readjust itself.
also, if this was the first time with this guy, you were probably nervous, and that can also affect your cycle.
are there any other factors in your life causing stress? have you changed something in your daily habits like eating, exercising, sleeping?
i'd say give it a little longer, but like blownspeaker said, if you're worried, go get a pregnancy test.

I switched back to the pill about a month ago. It was my first time with the guy, but I've known him for a while, and even to this day I still get a little nervous. I'm in college again and I ended up quitting a few things at school so that could be a factor, and they caused a lot more stress than what I'm under now. I think the transition from home to college AGAIN affected me. Sleeping patterns HAVE changed and I've noticed that I can't sleep for more than 6 hours at a time before I'm up again. Thanks for everything =)

i'd say all of that is working against your cycle. you're probably fine.
if you're paranoid like me, you'll do a test anyway, but i bet you're ok.

definitely paranoid, lol, all the time.

like someone else had told me, I had a steady intake of birth control so there's no likely way I could get pregnant unless I was taking something that would make it less effective, in which I wasn't.

Depo takes a *long* time to wear off, too. wait until a week after you should have started your period to test, though, because they aren't really sensitive enough to detect anything earlier than that.

what split_the_sky said, i think it takes a while for your normal period to come back, even if you're on the pill or whatever.
