I just started Estrostep Fe a month ago. I'm on the placebo pills this week, but my period is being wacky. I think I'll cut this cause it's gonna get a little gross
Now my periods have always been normal. Nice healthy red blood for 8 days. I was counting on my first cycle on BC to be weird, but this is kinda making me worry. My blood is not red. It's dark brown, alomost black. WTF? I have never had this happen during my cycles. Is it just my body trying to adjust to the bc pills? Should I call my gyno? Maybe give it another month and see what happens?

Thanks in advance/ :)

Color varies. Mine changes frequently. I asked the NP at PP about it when I started going there, along with my family NP and they both said it changes. It would probably depend on how thick the lining in your uterus is that month and it may very well be older lining that hasn't shed.

Unless you're bleeding excessively during this period, I think you should be okay. Normally they say that if you fill up a pad in less then 2 hours, then you should head to the doc. However, as far as color goes, I've had the same changes from time to time. I'm on Estrostep FE too (have been for the last 5 years) and it happens once every so often, it isn't specific to the pill necessarily as much as to the lining issue that [livejournal.com profile] eras3r mentioned above.
