i made my trek out to get the divacup. I took advantage of it just being a nice day for a bit over an hour long drive to the coop at earlham college. I purchased my cup and came home to see if I had any troubles inserting it. I didn't notice any, though I'm not sure if it is up in there all the way. Is the stem supposed to be IN your vaginal canal, almost out of it? When I stick my finger just slightly inside my vaginal opening, I can feel the stem. I'm told it can be cut off, but I think I should wait until I start my period to assure that I have it in correctly and can get it out with no problem.

As far as I can tell, I don't think/hope I will have problems with leakage. I stuck my fingers up there and could feel the actual cup itself NOT folded up. Then upon removing I heard the joyous sound of the suction being released. Only in a few days will I know that this will truly be the product for me.

I'm looking forward to not having to carry tampons in my pocket anymore. And even better, disposing of them in a trash can in the open and not wasting 2 rolls of toilet paper at home for every period to wrap the used tampon or pad in.

I know this may seem completely stupid, But.. what exactly is a a divacup? I have never heard of one before, and I'm quite curious about it. Would you mind telling me a little bit about it? if you don't mind, of course....

the stem should be inside you a little bit when you first insert it. I find that my cup works its way up further as I wear it. You do need to turn the cup once it's inside to make it open up though. When removing mine I just bear down a bit and grab the bottom of the cup and pull it out. Helps to release the suction and it's easier to pull the bottom instead of the stem. I haven't cut my stem, nor will I ever do that just in case there comes a time when I really do need it. I mean, it's already pretty short anyhow. As the poster before me said, I also had a stem issue the first couple times (you can just remove and reinsert if it really bothers you) but once I got the hang of it, it was smooth sailing.
