Oct. 6th, 2004 01:35 pmOk...I'm on the pill... and the last weekend of September, I went camping. I forgot to take my pack of pills with me, so I went without. Sunday night, when I got home, I took the pill for Sunday and I went to bed. The next day, I started bleeding and I thought it wasn't really anything, and I went on with my day. Well, the bleeding has gotten worse. I've stopped taking the pill, I stopped last Wednesday, and the bleeding has gotten worse. The bleeding has been going on for 2 weeks now. That's longer than my normal menstrual cycle. I'm getting really scared now, and I don't know what to do. Is this normal?

Date: 2004-10-07 06:40 am (UTC)if you 1 or 2 pills you should take them as soon as you remember. it could be that missing 2 days of estrogen has caused your body to think it's supposed to start bleeding.
i think you should definitely talk to your doctor and see what he/she suggests.
also, with your next pack, take out the little paper insert and be sure to read it. you don't have to read about the clinical studies right now (although it is nice to know) but it will tell you what to do if you miss pills.

Date: 2004-10-06 11:47 pm (UTC)I take the Pill almost continuously due to endometriosis and sometimes go for 2 - 3 months without having a period. Then when I finally DO skip a Pill, my period can easily go on for 2 weeks or longer. So if you've gone for awhile without having one, that can definitely make your period go on for longer.
