I'm extremely worried and I'm hoping you guys can help me..

I have no one to go to.

Yesturday [Monday] I had sex with my boyfriend of 10 months, we've been having sex for awhile now and we've never had any problems.
Yesturday, we had sex a lot though, because we were finally alone for a whole day, and it got kinda rough. hehe. I was fine after sex, besides a little irritation and about 2 hours later I started bleeding, pretty bad. I put a tampon in and left it alone. about 2-3 hours later I checked it, and it was almost like period blood. but I'm so confused because I'm on birth control and I'm not due to start my period for another 2 weeks. this morning I woke up with terrible cramps but no blood [I didn't wear a tampon to bed to see if I was still bleeding] but I wore one to school just in case. I changed it in school, and it was full, almost like a very light period [brown blood] so now I'm confused.. did the sex make me start my period 2 weeks early? or is it just blood from irritation?

Just some more about me, I'm 16, I'm on my 2nd pack of birth control now with no problems except in the beginning with some breakthrough bleeding [with the first pack]

Is it normal for this to happen? or could it be more serious? :\ please help!

Breakthrough bleeding with BCPs is pretty common for the first three months. You could always call your gyno and ask for a professional opinion though.

if you had breakthru bleeding last month, it is probably just the same thing this month. I tried about 4-5 different brands of bcp, and had breakthrough bleeding on every stinking one of them:/

Yeah, it's very common to bleed when you first start taking OC's. I know I had a really hard time with them to the point where I basically spotted the whole month for a few months. Are you on Alesse perhaps? That's one of the milder pills, whereas TriCyclen has more side effects. Your doctor might get you to try a different pill, or tell you to wait it out to let your body adjust. Regardless, I hope all goes well.

Did your hymen break the first time you had sex?
Mine didn't break until 2 years after I started having sex, and when I bled it was for about 2 days of period-like blood.
Not only that, but it didn't break till I had some pretty rough sex. Some hymens are just that determined I guess!

Unless you have one that dosnt rip, some peoples are like that, like it either has a samll hole, or it wont rip, but i think you would notice.

The hymen is on the inside of the vagina, and I don't think that's what was bleeding. It used to be a gauge in marriages to see if the woman was sexually "pure" or not on her wedding night. If she didn't bleed, it was assumed she wasn't a virgin, and brought shame to her and her family.

The hymen can tear or stretch during sex, which may cause mild bleeding. But a lot of the time it's already been broken due to other activities, the most common being horseback riding and gymnastics. A lot of time females don't realize they've already torn it, and all that happens their first time is stretching and discomfort.

And if you had a more than normal amount of rough sex, there's the possibility of some vaginal bruising, which is why the tampons hurt. For me it's always gone away in a couple of days, and not using tampons could help it along.
