This is probably a ridiculous question but I just heard from a friend of my mother's that a person can get cancer in a reproductive organ from "having too much sex." I have NEVER heard of this and it doesn't even make sense to me. Has anyone else ever heard this and does anyone have anything to specifically prove or disprove this?

That seems silly to me. I don't have any factual proof but if thats the case...then wouldn't every single porn star have cancer of their reproductive organs?

Having multiple partners puts you at a higher risk for HPV. Certain strains of HPV can lead to cervical cancer.

There is no correlation between "too much sex" and "cancer in a reproductive organ." I think what endo_like_whoa said is the closest thing that could cause cancer like that.

oh totally, that allegation was ridiculous. i just meant that HPV is sooo prevalent, we all have a cancer risk from it, nearly. plus doesn't everything except sex give you cancer anyway? ha.

Too much sex? No. Many partners...possibly. There is a link between sex and cervical cancer. Statistically you're much less at risk of cervical cancer if you're a virgin or have only one partner throughout your life.

Uterine or ovarian cancer - have sometimes been linked to pregnancy, though the evidence is unreliable at best. Not linked to sex, though (except in that you don't generally get pregnant without it).
