can i start my pill?

i got my period yesterday. i was told by the gynocolgist to start taking my pill the sunday after i got my period. so, i guess that would be tomorrow.
but my period has pretty much STOPPED for today. i had it yesterday; but it's totally gone now. i don't understand what happened. i've never had a one-day period.
can i still start my pill tomorrow?

Its ok, go ahead and start your pills. What they mean by Sunday start is that no matter what day of the week you START your period and no matter what day of the week you END your period, you always start that Sunday IMMEDIATELY after your first day. If you started Monday, you'd start that next Sunday, even if you finished your period Friday. You'll be fine.

Hmm, the period also might've just stopped for a bit. Mine's done that before.

i don't eat soy... but this past month has been stressful and i also got my first pap smear. could that have anything to do with it?

The stress could definitely have something to do with it. Probably not the pap smear, but periods are funny, so maybe.

if you bled just after the pap smear, it might've been post-past bleeding rather than a halted period. but if the pap was a day or more before the bleeding then you're cool..

I'm on Yasmin (previously on Ortho Tri Cyclin) and I've had periods as short as 2 days. Sometimes my period will skip a day, though usually not till after I've had at least 2 days of bleeding. It seems I get a lot of periods that are like 2 or 3 days on, one day off (just enough to make me think it's over) and then another day to day and a half of spotting.
