Ok, so periods always show up at the worst time. Last month, I got my period at 4 pm on a day when I was in meetings from 8 am to midnight. Luckily I had one Instead and two pads with me, which got me through the next 30 hours until I could get to a pharmacy. Let's hear it for Insteads!

And this month, I finally got myself to the gym on Sunday, only to discover--once I got there--that my period was starting. Yikes!! Some bodies will do *anything* to keep from working out. Hmf.

Does yours always show up at the worst possible moment?

How about in bed the night I had sex with a particular guy for the first time? And it was a mighty raging river, let me tell you. Fancy hotel, too. Kinda looked like someone had been murdered. They probably had to burn the sheets.

Yeah... I got my period when I was climbing Mt Kinabalu, which is the tallest mountain in Southeast Asia at 14000+ feet, but I still made it. I've had periods at other inoppurtune times, too, but none come to mind. ;)

Fortunately I'm on birth control now and have a little more control over that, and with a menstrual cup I can be prepared beforehand.

The first day of my period is always frought with excruciating pain, and it always seems to fall on the most inconvnient occasions--12 hour shifts at work (on my feet the whole time), formal functions

And with the hotel sheets thing--thats happened to me too--thought my period was over so we went for it, he pulls out and Ive bled everywhere, and a nice big stain of blood on the sheets (he was beside himself cos he thought he did it hurt me!)

The usual. 5 minutes before I walked out the door to go to my senior prom... The day my dance recitals began and I was suited up in layers of tights and spandex... During miserable 4 hour classes where the instructor is a bonehead and won't let anyone interrupt his lecture to take a break...

I've had four deaths in my family in the past four years and I got my period just before every funeral. I guess my body was mourning too.

Yes--to some extent--it always seems to be *around* some important life event, holiday, or work issue, but I manage to "catch it" in time and/or deal with it in a way where it doesn't become blatantly obvious, for the most part. Sometimes, when I am under great stress, my cramps seem to wait for when I can find "down-time" from the world, even if it's for a few hours.
