You know how you're supposed to get your period around the time you take your green pills? (if you take BC. I'm taking ortho tricyclen, FYI) Well.. My birthday is in a few weeks - and my period will probably come that week, and I want to have a good time with my boyfriend.

So, I want my period to come early. I have two weeks left on the pack I'm on now, and I was wondering if I could possibly take the green ones next week, then take the (sort of) dark blue ones the next week.

Or do you think I should just skip the green ones when I get to them and go to my next pack, meaning I wouldn't get my period at all?

Grr! I'm confused. >:(

I'm no expert.

I've heard that if you stop taking your pills, your period will come within a day... But I would NOT, repeat, NOT try anything unless you first call your doctor and ask if it's OK to mess around with it! After all, you have to get a prescription to even have the pills, so it's not something to just screw around with. Also, if you are planning to have sex soon after altering your schedule and pill-taking, it might make you more likely to get pregnant. One more reason to ask a doctor!

Do not take them out of order!
Usually in your situation one would just skip the green pills and start with the next pack. However, you should definitely call your doctor before deciding!

Skip the green ones and start the next pack. It's perfectly fine to do this once in a while. If you just start taking the green ones, there's no guarantee that you will get your period... furthermore, you may cause ovulation by leaving out a portion of the pills. You are much better off just starting the next pack when you reach your green pills.

skipping the green ones should work... the greens are placebos (sugar pills), and by keeping on the other meds (the white and blues) you keep the period from occuring...

how long have you been on orthotrycyclen? i'm assuming it's more than a month, but if it's not, you need to use a backup b/c method, because it's not guaranteed effective yet.

my friend didnt want to have her period when we went on spring break so she just skipped the green pills and went onto the new pack immediately. i know other people have already suggested this but i wanted to remind you that your period will be twice as heavy and you might have stronger cramps when you get it the month after you skip. it's nothing to worry about, or so the doctor told my friend, but if you are ever concerned talk to your doctor. oh and orthotricyclen is very effective, but as with any bc, missing a pill or taking it at irregular times increases your chances of pregnancy.

my suggestion...
