i was wondering if anyone in the comm here knows of a woman who started with the night-sweats/hot-flashes when she was in her early 30s?...

my sisters and mom seem to have never really had much in the way of hormonal-problems (i'm the black sheep)... so i really don't know what to expect as far as when i might reach menopause...

all i know is that for the past 2 years, my periods have suddenly started coming much more regular (i used to only bleed 4 times a year or so, and now i am bleeding every 1-2 months), and the periods are much lighter and less painful... no drop in libido (hell, i've started to get *more* of an appetite for sex, actually!), and nothing else seems out of kilter health wise...

well, the past couple months, i have started to feel *clammy*..... blech! :-(

what'll happen is that i will lay down to sleep, and wake up suddenly aware that i am sweating all *over* the place... i will have just gone to roll over in bed and find myself feeling clammy all over, and enough sweat around my face that my hair will almost feel damp from where i was laying on the pillow...

a couple of times, i felt a rush of heat just as i was waking up...

is this normal sounding to anyone?...
is it normal to sweat *that* much?...

I dont know if it's normal, but I got that for a couple of years in my late teens and early twenties! Doubly odd for me as I'm ALWAYS cold, but sometimes I would wake up in a near literal pool of sweat.

It was pretty damn oogy.

I get it sometimes for a few years now, and I'm going to be twenty soon.

Also if you're on a medication, it could be what's causing it as well.

Yeah it can be hormonal, because I get like that too sometimes, which is REALLY odd for me. I usually wake up frozen stiff. But I don't think it's necessarily menopause.

I don't know if it has anything to do with hormones, because I know of guys that are the same way. Becoming furnaces when you sleep. The worst part is getting dressed and leaving the house right away (no time for shower) because you sweat all the was to whereever (like walking to work or school). Sometime when you sleep, because of everything that you have eaten the day before, your body goes into metabolic overdrive.
As for you period getting regular...I have no clue. But I don't think that hte sleeping heat is hormonal. Some of us just have a little extra fire while sleeping...

if this is a new thing for you, i'd really feel much better if you went to see a doctor. night sweats can be a symptom of something serious. please get it checked out!
