Hi, I'm new. I've read through this community a few times & really love how supportive & helpful everyone is.

Ok, so in november I got my period on time the first week of the month but then got it again 2 weeks later and it was pretty light. I just got it again this past friday, ended yesterday & today it seems like I'm ovulating again already. I'm 20 & this has never happened before. I'm late a lot but never started getting it once every 2 weeks before. I'm not sexually active, am having no other physcial problems & can't think of any major events or changes that would provoke this. I scheduled an appointment with the gyno [my first one, I know I should have gone years ago for a check up] & the earliest I could get was January 12th after trying 3 different reccomended doctors.

My question is, is this something I should be pretty concerned about & keep trying more doctors until I can get an appointment really soon? I'm pretty freaked out as it is & would really, really appreciate any feedback.

The 12th is not that far away, and with the holidays, I don't know if you would be able to see a doctor before then. How are your cramps? How do you know that you are ovulating? I have over active overies, but they have always been that way, so I don't know what would be going on if yours just starts up...

my question would be how is your stress level. I have known women to have short cycles like this during times of heavy stress.

the light cycles could be ovulatory spotting.

Happened to me, too. Recently.

In October, I had midterms. My period was late. Which didn't bother me much, because I don't have a regular cycle anyhow. (I gave up trying to keep track of my periods YEARS ago, because it tends to just --- show up whenever).

Anyway. My "period" showed up after my midterms were over, but it was really, REALLY light. Like -- I used three pantiliners and it was over in three days. (I usually go for five days, with a pretty heavy flow).

Then in November, I started getting piled with essays and assignments, plus my finals were coming up. Stress to the max. And soooo --- yet again, after only about two and a half weeks, I had another of those weird, light periods.

Then nothing.

This month, I knew *something* was coming. After my finals ended on the fifteenth, I started having some major PMS symptoms. Back pain, headache, bloating -- all that fun shit.

Then this morning, half an hour after I got to work, I felt this throb in both ovaries. And I knew it had arrived.

Holy Moses. I think someone turned on a faucet or something.

But I'm relieved that things have gone back to "normal" (at least for me). Can't say I enjoy the cramps or the mess of it, but -- eh.

Just thought I'd share my own experience. Hope you don't mind. :o)
