I just started my period last night but already this morning my flow is extremely heavy. Are there any ways to slow the flow down or help it in some way? I'm a college student and today and tomorrow are hellish days of finals and papers and I have no idea (ok probably stress) why my period is so heavy that I soak a regular pad in 20 min. Should I forsake my schoolwork and see a doctor? I've never had a flow this heavy. I have no excessive pain though, just usual cramping.
Thanks.
Thanks.

I know that this last round, because of my finals, I went through a tampon in an hour at first, but it was also done in two and an half days. That made me realy happy because I hate fussing with it for very long. I was shocked! What timing. But I know that it was because it was really heavy. It was like my body was trying to huring up and get it done. Maybe yours is doing the same?

Date: 2004-12-15 10:56 am (UTC)i will sometimes flow much heavier than usual for a day or two, but it usually slows up before too long.
and other than going on birth control, i don't know any way to lessen the flow. if this is the first time, it's probably just stress and your body changing and adjusting.
