i haven't had my period since late Sep. yeah, its scarey. i know. but im not pregnant! i took a test and everything. and i'm not going thru any kind of abnormal stress. whats up? someone please give me some advice!!!

too low or too high body fat? Change in diet? Change in exercise? Travel? New medication?

i'm obese, but have been all my life.

no change in diet.

no change in exersise.

no travel.

and no new meds.

do you think the overwieght thing could be it? some people have told me to exercise more.....

I have PCOS....have you ever looked into it? Not having your period is a sign of it.

polycystic ovary syndrome

It means benign cysts on ovaries...well most people with it do, I don't have them. I have many of the other symptoms.

Common symptoms include:

-overweight (cannot lose the weight)
-insulin resistance or diabetes
-prolonged periods or none at all for lengthy times
-cysts on the ovaries

I have a friend who thought that she wasn't pregnant and even after three negitive blood tests, an ultrasound showed what she didn't want to know. She was siz and a half months...sometimes tests don't mean a thing, esp if on birthcontrol (she was on depo).

wuh. do you have any more information about this? the blood and urine pregnancy tests that i've heard about detect the presence of hGC (human chorionic gonadotropin?), which is produced by the placenta. i was told that the hormones in birth control were irrelevant to the outcome of the tests. (...i'm just curious about more stories about the wonky things that human bodies can do...)
