Parsley Tea?
Dec. 26th, 2004 10:39 pmHi everyone, this is my first post.
I came to the community to find some information about parsley tea and I found a great post in the memories. However, there are a few questions I would like to ask before trying it.
I have been on the pill for over a year. This month I was not able to get my pills on time; so this month I have not been on my pills. I know that this can affect your cycle, however the last time I came off of my pills (early summer) I stayed regular.
Now, I am 4 days late. Not much but I'm almost NEVER late. I did have a lot of stress this month with finals from school... and I've been a bit depressed lately also (I don't know if that can affect your cycle or not). I do not believe I am pregnant because since my boyfriend lives out of town now we only had sex 3 times last month and used condoms every time. None of them broke and I do not believe that any "leaked" but I am not 100% sure of that.
I would like to take parsley tea to try to induce my period so that I can begin my pills again, but I'm not sure if that is okay to do if you actually are pregnant. I did read in the memories that it is not an abortant so I'd assume that means it's okay, but I'd like to have some input from others.
Oh and as far as a pregnancy test goes, it is kind of difficult for me to take one now since I live at home with my family and I really don't want my family to freak out if they saw one. I will take a test next weekend (I'll be staying with some friends next weekend) though if my period has not come.
Anyway, I apologize for the long post but my questions boil down to... "Do you agree that it's unlikely that I'm pregnant?" and "Do you think using parsley tea will be a-okay?"
Thank you in advance!

Date: 2004-12-26 09:06 pm (UTC)My understanding is that parsely tea will not abort you if you are pregnant. It's not a good idea to try it if you know you're pregnant, but I don't think it could hurt to try. I'm the one who made the original parsely tea post. Much of the information I've got on this comes from Sister Zeus (http://www.sisterzeus.com). You can also ask the

Date: 2004-12-26 09:18 pm (UTC)the thing with the pregnancy test is that i share a bathroom with my brother and my grandmother... and my grandmother often spends time in my room... and my dad will be home all next week. we have a pretty small house. i work retail so doing one at work would be hard too. next weekend though if i still haven't started my period i'll definitely be concerned and will take a test using morning urine which i've read contains more hcg (i think) and will make the test more accurate and accuracy is always a plus lol.
anyways thank you for your comment. i was really hoping you would address my concern and i guess i just needed someone to assure me my assumptions were correct lol. if i am preggers i def do not want to hurt the baby at all.
thank you again!

Date: 2004-12-26 10:28 pm (UTC)given that parsley tea is used to induce a late period, and a very common cause of late periods is pregnancy, to me it would be the worst idea ever if parsley tea affected a pregnancy in any way because so many pregnant people would use it, and it wouldn't have caught on as an herbal remedy... but hey, that's just my thought process, and herbals aren't necessarily based on logic. :-)

Date: 2004-12-26 10:36 pm (UTC)i was suprised when i came off of OTC in early summer because my periods stayed exactly 28 days.. that's why when this period is a few days late it kind of makes me nervous... but i'd like to hurry up and start taking my new pills.
and again i just wanted to be sure that i wouldn't hurt any little baby that may possibly (but hopefully not) be in there. i'd want to keep it and so would my boyfriend, but it's not the best time for us to concieve since he's working/living 5 hours away while i finish up my last few semesters at college.
but thanks for the post :) i'll be picking up some parsley and a strainer tomorrow :)
