"the pill" questions
Dec. 29th, 2004 10:31 pmWell I've noticed some posts of people saying that they have gotten pregnant while taking the pill.
My question to anyone who has, or anyone who knows someone who has...
* What kind of pill (brand) where you taking (ortho ortho tri ortho lo etc)
* Where you/they taking the pill on time every day?
* Where you/they using condoms or withdrawl method along with the pill?
* Where you/they having sex frequently (more than once a week)?
I take the pill on time every day,
however i do not use any other form of protection (condoms, withdrawl)
And i have sex very very frequently with my partner of 2.5 years.
Really, what are the chances?

Date: 2004-12-29 08:58 pm (UTC)There have been actual studies done on the chances and I'm pretty sure it's something like 99% effective.... meaning that of the people who use it correctly 1% will get pregnant in a year if that is the only method of birth control they use. People who don't use it perfectly (meaning they don't do the exact time thing or occasionally miss a pill and take it the next day) have a 92% effectiveness rate - meaning within a year 8% will get pregnant. Date: 2004-12-30 07:49 am (UTC)I took it at exactly the same time everyday because it was my first time on the pill and I didn't want to play around
I was not using a condom or any other form of contraceptive except for the pill
I was having sex, I want to say about 1-2 times a week on average. This being new to us [no condom] we were a little anxious.
that being said, the week before my last placebo week on Mircette [my second month] I was informed I had a miscarriage, not an early period.
I believe the dose was just waaay too low for me, I had frequent breakthrough bleeding or maybe my boyfriend/I are extra fertile?
