So, some people over on [livejournal.com profile] punk_knitters were having a discussion about how it would be a great idea to make a statement about women's right to choose and abortion rights by knitting a bunch of userus dolls and stacking them on the steps of the supreme court on the anniversary of roe v wade. it was decided that was too soon, so instead it is going to be done during women's history month - march. the actual deployment is scheduled to happen march 15th. people who live in D.C. are setting up P.O. boxes to send completed womb dolls to. People who don't know how to knit are encouraged to crochet, or sew, or paper mache their womb dolls. We're not picky - make your womg personal!

that's awesome! I told my mom I wanted a lil bright pink one to hang in my rearview mirror because she can knit wonderfully and what woman doesn't want a uterus hanging in her car (ok...I'm guessing a lot buuuut whatever)? she looked at me like I was crazy and told me she would NOT make me a yarn uterus. It was actually my boyfriend who, jokingly...I think, suggested I should have one haha.
