Jan. 4th, 2005 07:16 pmOk, I know for a fact that I'm not pregnant, but I've skipped my period for 3 months. The last time I had it was in September.
Is this bad, or is it normal for a sixteen yr. old to have something like this?

Date: 2005-01-04 04:45 pm (UTC)has it ever been regular and predictable?
it takes your body and hormones a while to adjust, and you may swing wildly for a few years after menarche (the onset of menstruation).
i don't remember mine ever being particularly regular from the time i was 13 till i was 16, and that was only when i went on birth control.
if you're comfortable with your mom or a grandmother, you may ask them...this stuff is often hereditary. if not, ask your general practitioner next time you're in or schedule a gynecological checkup if you're really concerned.
good luck!

Date: 2005-01-04 05:34 pm (UTC)And sometimes I would skip a month once in a while.
But I do remember one time about 3 months after I got my first period, I did skip for 2 months and it freaked me out alot. But nothing like this long has happened before so this worrys me a bit.
I am highly considering going to the gyno but, I know it's childish, I'm nervous about it! My mom told me about what they do for a papsmear(sp?) and it sounds uncomfortable. And it would especially be ackward if a guy did it to...
Thanks for listening to me ramble....:)

Date: 2005-01-04 08:33 pm (UTC)anyway, first times at the gyno can be totally nervewracking, that's not unusual at all. pap smears aren't particularly fun, but my gyno (a guy!) is really awesome and has never made me feel uncomfortable, so i don't mind going at all anymore. you might find out if any of your friends have one and see if they like them...that's at least someplace to start looking for a good one.
anyway, best of luck!
