Just a quick question about the pill that I've always wondered about, and always forgot to ask my doctor :P

I take the pill (currently on Mircette, switching to Ortho-Tricyclenlo after my next period) around 12:30 every night. But sometimes I take it earlier (if I'm going out and can't carry it) or later (If I miss the time, or I go out and plan to take it when I get home) The time difference is usually no more than an hour before or after (although sometimes I've taken it 3 hours late... but NOT often at all). I'm just wondering if this slight inconsistently can effect chances of pregnancy, or if that's still considered consistent enough. I never spot.

I've taken birth control in the form of a pill for nearly 6 years. I always took it at night, but the times always varied. I've been having sex 5 out of 6 of those years, and I haven't had one problem yet. I don't think the time you take the pill matters, as long as you stick to either night or day, and take it every day. I've even missed a day or two once and just followed the directions for that, and everything was fine. I didn't take Mircette though, I took Ovcon. Ovcon was one of the older birth controls too, so I'm sure you're fine.

my ob/gyn told me that within 2 hours was fine, but more than that might be a risk. that's for yasmin, a combo pill- i'm not sure what Mircette is. it shouldn't effect long-term risks, though...

if its a combo pill then it doesn't really matter..but i noticed that you're switching to ortho-lo..for those type of bcp you have to take them at the same time everyday. otherwise they tend to be ineffective and is suggested that you use another form of birth control (ie condoms) if you have sex, just to be careful.

we use condoms too.. but just in case :P
i went to the ortho-lo website, and the directions on missing pills sounds exactly like mircette O.o except theres more colors. like... light blue, dark blue, and white or something.
