I went on tricyclen around may of 1997. I changed to diane35 last summer.. at the very end of november i ended up forgetting about 4 or 5 pills.. i noticed this when i first woke up and panicked and took all 4 or 5 (STUPID.. i KNOW!!!!!!!!!).. my doctor told me that i could just start a new pack at that point and skip the sugar pills so i could skip my period for that month. that didnt work.. i was spotting.. actually.. it was more of a brown discharge for a bit.. then light spotting or brown.. its been going on every day since then.. keep in mind it's been two months now. I think i have my regular period now because it is red and the flow is heavier.. im hoping things will be back to normal.. i am back on tricyclen and start a new pack on monday..

have you ever heard of this? i know what i did was dangerous and SO stupid..
i just hope my body goes back to normal soon. i wasnt sexually active before but i was in a serious relationship at that time and plan to have sex in the near future.. im hoping i'll be fine as long as he wears a condom.. can i trust that my system will finally be back to normal? i havent had anything as of YET today.. but i dont trust it that much.. im sure it will come back tonight as it has done before.
im going crazy.

as long as you have been taking the pill correctly for 7 days, you are protected against pregnancy.
you weren't having sex before, so it's not a big deal that you missed pills in terms of pregnancy, only that you confused your body. starting a new pack of pills helps your body to reset. you might still have erratic periods for another month, but you will be protected against pregnancy. hope that helps! you can check your pill insert for more information.

also, keep in mind that the patch and the ring are other methods you might want to look into that require less daily worry.

it's not really dangerous to take 4-5 pills. it's actually the prescribed amount in some cases for using bc pills as "the morning after pill." did you take 7 sugar pills and have your period during that time, then start a new pack today? if that's the case, you're fine. if not, your doctor is an idiot and you need to stop taking pills for 7 days then start a new pack! for future reference with problems like this, you might want to try asking in [livejournal.com profile] menstrualhut. lots of women there who have all kinds of experience with situations like yours.
