Okay, so my period is way out of wack. Or at least it was. From when I was 16 or so, I just ... stopped having my period. Well, not completely -- I'd have it every six months or so. My breasts would be sore for a few days beforehand, and a little cramping before it came. Usually it was *really* heavy, with lots of cramping and serious PMS. Last time this happened was Jan. 31. Well ... two days ago, I got my period. Just out of the blue. No cramping. It was really light. At first I wasn't even sure if it had started. It's starting to taper off now, and it was never all that heavy. I think maybe I'm back in the grove again. I'm not sure if that's a good thing or bad thing, 'cuz I kind of enjoyed not having a period all the time, lol. Of course, this takes some worry away, and it's kind of nice to be back in with the rest of the female population, lol.

I don't know why it stopped. I have had a lot of stress, I guess, but I didn't really realize it 'til my period started normally (maybe) again. These last six or so months have been wonderfully stress-free, and I've never been happier.

Weird how that works.

I have poly-cystic ovarian syndrome - I don't get periods unless I'm taking hormones. (Either bcp's, or hormones specifically to make me have a period.)

Did you ever talk to your doctor about your periods?

Sometimes doctors can be very stupid about it.

Tests aren't the only thing that indicates it, you have to look at other factors, too. I ended up having to see an endocrinologist before getting my diagnosis.

Course, that may not be what it is for you, but even under stress, it's still not normal. :)

Have you tried asking a doctor about it? Sudden cessation of periods can be a sign of cancer or other problems.
