Hi I'm new and I just have a quick question...

I got my period today and started my birth control pills and my period stopped. 3 or 4 people told me this is normal. Is it?

Completely normal. :)

You shouldnt start your birth control until the last day of your period, for a new pack. It's not a big deal, though. Things will even out.

Alright. My pill pamphlet said that if I started my period on a Sunday to take it then or whatever day I got it. Thanks though :)

Taking your BC pills stop your period. It's a nice way to predict your period. When you're on them, your period is off, when you're not, your period is on. You can use this to your advantage if you're going on a swimming type vacation and your period will start doing it by taking a few extra pills or starting your period a week before so it comes then instead of during =]

As tough as our bodies are, things like that can cause our systems a little shock. It's nothing to worry about, it's just your body going, "Hold it!! What was that!?"
