in order to ask this question, i kinda need to be explicit. see, i think somethings wrong with me. whenever my man goes to, well, finger me, he'll get like a half of a finger in me...and it kills like murder. its not like hes going too fast or hard or anything, but it kills. im not sure what to do, literally, im lost. i have been fingered before, by another boy..and it didnt hurt. do any of you girls have any ideas as to what could be going on here?
im sorry i know this doesnt have anything to do with menstruation, but i figured that you girls know your stuff, so any help would be appreciated. thanks!

Question: are you a virgin? If not, does sex hurt? It may be the angle that he's using. Does it hurt when you use your own finger, or when you use sex toys?

you probably have smaller fingers than he does, and you might want to ask him to trim his fingernails . . .
also, even if you are a virgin, you should probably make a gynocological appointment, just to be on the safe side.

You may have some type of infection around your opening that would be causing the pain. Talk to your doc *s*

Don't be scared. A good doctor will explain all that he/she will do in advance. If it is a man doctor a nurse will usually be present. Explain your fears and nervousness to the doctor.

it shouldn't hurt that badly, but tell the doc you're scared... and try to relax, being tense makes *anything* work more. if you have an infection, it might hurt some... but you should get it checked.

also, what my mom told be before going to a gyno: even tho you can't have sex before it, if you masturbate the night before it gets the skin moister so it is easier. don't know if it's acutally true, but something to try..

Hmmm?

Ok, this might sound too obvious...but check the length of your man's fingernails. I know that sounds wierd, but I've seen women come in claiming the exact thing you are,...and I ask "how long are his nails..??: and they suddenly get this "Oooohhhhh" look on their face. Sometimes even a little bit of fingernail can cause slight trauma to the tissues (especially if you're a virgin!). HOWEVER... it really shouldn't be excrutiating pain!! If it hurts, you may have an infection (although, if you have no discharge and no foul smell...I doubt it). You may, however, have hit a time of the month when your mucus membranes and vaginal tissue are engorged and therefore your nerve endings are more sensitive. I would call your doctor and speak with the nurse to see if you should be seen. Although, I think you are probably o.k. Also, try having your boyfriend lube up his fingers with some KY and then start s-l-o-w-l-y and gently inserting his fingers!! Good luck! :)

what kind of pain? scratchy pain, uncomfortableness, ?...

if you fingered yourself right now, would it hurt?

Vaginitis (inflammation of the vagina) can be caused by things like yeast. That would cause a sort of burning pain on the outside, and a achy don't-stretch-me pain on the inside. It's not a huge deal though. If you're a virgin, it's not an STD, and yeast is easily cured.

Or he could have just been too rough. tell him to lay off. :)

if it was a burning pain, like an irritation kind of thing, than it was almost certainly an inflammation of some kind (yeast being the most common). Yeast can definately make all kinds of sexual activity painful! It makes your vaginal lips irritated (thus the burning) and your vagina sore (causing pain if you try to insert anything).

i get a yeast infection after almost
every period.

That sucks :( I get yeast a lot too. However, sometimes if you get yeast a lot it can really be some other kind of vaginitis (a blanket term for "inflammation of the vagina"-- often cause of a reaction to chemicals), but you just think it's yeast cause it feels a lot like yeast. That happened to me-- I have a very yeast-like reaction to a certain kind of pantyliner. When I switched pantyliners I stopped getting vaginitis so often.

Anyway-- whether you have yeast or some other infection (which isn't serious so don't get worried, it won't kill you or anything, but you might want to check and see what products you're using and try switching, or talk to your dr) that could definately be the reason you were in so much pain. Were you having a yeast infection at the time? Or had you just gotten over one?
