Ok, I'm really, really scared right now. I think I might be pregnant. See, I just started my green pills yesterday, and I don't have my period yet. I mean, maybe I'm just being paranoid - but I don't feel any signs of it coming. I can't remember when it came last time I took the green pills.

I'm just wondering if the pills aren't working (I waited a month like everyone said before I had unprotected sex - I know, I know, you should still have a back up method, but I couldn't help myself).

I'm going to accept responsibility if I am pregnant, it's just that I'm scared shitless to tell my parents. I mean, I'm 18, but, I'm just scared of what they'll do to me.. like.. take me out of their will or something. Lol. I dunno. I'm confused right now.

I'm going to wait until like, the middle of this week, and if I don't get it by then, I'm gonna get an EPT pregnancy test, because I heard those are like, the most effective.

The bottom line: I'm scared. And I hope it's just me being paranoid...

take a deep breath!

you didn't say what prescription of pills you're on (or maybe you did and i am just still asleep) but on both orthotrycyclen and my previous one (whose name i forgot), i didn't bleed till usu. wednesday or even thursday of my week of green pills (starting sunday)... and then i bled till sunday or monday (only occasionally "thru" the next white pill to monday) and stopped. the pill does that for a lot of women--makes the bleeding shorter than a week.

so if you don't bleed at *all* during the green pills, i'd make an appt with your doc, but that can also happen to some women sometime i'm told because of stress, etc.. yes, sometimes even with the pill. doesn't necessarily mean youre pregnant!

hey sister :)

First-- calm down. Wait til you've completed the green pills til you start completely freaking out. Typically mine would start on the fourth day of the green pills-- its not instant when you take them ;)

Most likely, if you've waited and you've taken your pill on time and not taken antibodics, you're not pregnant. And if you are-- well there are more than a few of us who are willing to listen and help in any way we can.

Take a deep breath and be patient-- stressing out is not going to make it come faster-- it could help delay it more which leads to more stress which-- you know :)

Take a breath!

Before you get too scared or anxious...take a breath!! Correct me if I'm wrong, but it sounds like this is your first month or two on the pill?? If so, it can take up to 3 months for your period to become regulated around the pill. Some women don't even have periods while on certain birth control pills...you may be one of them. Also, I wouldn't worry about it until you've completed the green (placebo) pills. The average woman starts her period on Day 3 of the placebo pills... even though you're taking the green ones, there may be traces of the hormone (from the other pills) in your system. Some of these hormones have a longer half-life and so they hang out in your blood stream a little longer. What can you do?? 1) Stop stressing (as that can delay the onset of menses). 2) IF, you don't start your period by the end of your placebo pills (green ones), do not start the next pack until you take a home pregnancy test. 3) If the test is negative, go ahead and start the next pack, you may just get lucky and not have a period this month! Good luck!

Unless you have actual symptoms (feeling sick, cravings, etc), I wouldn't worry. If you want to put your mind at ease, you *can* take a home pregnancy test now. As others have said, I seem to remember starting my period three days or so after stopping the white pills (I never bothered to take the green ones).

Your period may come a little late after you start the green pills, it doesn't always come at the same time every month just because the pills regulate it. I know that when I started using birth control I was worried about that as well, because my period would vary several days each month.

Well my period doesn't start the minute I take the placebo pills. It usually takes 3-4 pills in before my body's done deciding it wants to go for it.

If you get all nuts and worried and crazed about it you could make the situation worse. Stress can affect your period.
