Hi, I'm new here, and I was wondering...I'm 17 and I have had my period for about four years, but for some reason I have not had it for two months. I went to see a doctor a while ago, but they said nothing was wrong. I'm not sexually active, so there's no way I'm pregnant. Can anyone help?

Has anything stressful been going on in your life lately? That may be the cause.

You're still young. You don't stop maturing for another 4 years and thus, neither does your period. Sometimes women skip months at a time when they are younger just because their cycle is trying to regulate itself. Stress also can delay your period along with weight loss/gain. Don't worry too much. The more you worry the later it will come. Just know that it's ok.

well, i don't know what anyone can say other than agreeing with the doctor that nothing's wrong. if you're not pregnant, and the doctor says all's well, then consider it a happy break from the blood.

i'm having exactly the same problem as you (just one year older). i've never skipped a period before (until this month). i might get myself along to a doctor too.

every woman is different. I tend to think that 28 days cycle is total bullshit, because when I was 19 (and had had my period since I was 13) I went five months without a period. I had fallen asleep *next* to a guy and freaked out that I was pregnant. sometimes doctors will tell you that if your total percentage body fat is below a certain amount, you will skip periods because without a certain percentage body fat, your body will not even prepare itself to be pregnant.

it's okay though, and perfectly normal. seeing a doctor is always a good idea, though, when it comes to that stuff.
