so I was worried for a few weeks.

I am in a long term relationship and am sexually active, but we always use protection. birth control was not kind to me the first month I was using it, so I haven't gotten more since October. my boyfriend and I always use a condom, except for the rare occassions that I'm just finishing up my period and it seems safe (and not too messy).

however, we had sex without a condom, end of February, and I hadn't had a period since. I had started feeling crampy and pms-y about three weeks later, and still no period. I was worried. I was gaining weight and my boobs were swelling, the way that they usually do right before my period. needless to say, I was worried.

and then yesterday morning, it came. slowly at first, but anytime I get a period, I'm just like my mom and I practically hemmorrage sometimes. for the past three weeks or so, I'd been feeling like the whole lower half of my body was like this big congested nose. was I constipated? was I ovulating? what the eff was going on with my body?

but now it's here, and it's like a big, painful nose-blowing session. maybe it's something abnormal that I should be concerned about, but for the time being, I'd just like to complain.

waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!

The same kind of thing happens to me. If I'm really worried about not having my period, it will be really late. When I was sexually active, this sort of thing would happen to me all the time. I would stress and stress and the period wouldn't come.

I distinctly remember that "conjested" feeling too... and the explosive period later in the cycle. It's quite unnerving.

I think perhaps some women's bodies are more sensitive to emotional stress, especially if it's directly related to menstruation. What a psychological study that might someday make.

Same here...when I worry, my peroid takes longer to come and usually it is late. Drives me up the wall.
