BR UPDATE...
"You know something needs to be done when you take off your bra, and your own mother says, you poor thing"

I made my appointment for my consultation and its on May 13th. Exactly a week after my first gyno appointment. I really hope that my gyno gives me a referal. Im just so scared shes going to say something like, "wait a few years" or something, even though im just turning 18. I just dont think I can be uncomfortable like this (physically and emotionally) for much longer. Especially since ill be going to college this fall in Boston and want to start fresh.

Im looking to get the surgery done in mid to late July. That way, I can heal and get my bearings before I leave this fall. I talked to the receptionist and she said thats a reasonable request (Yay! Crosses fingers!) Especially if I put down a down payment which would let me make the surgery appointment at the consultation. Then, if its a brutal fight with the insurance company and takes a long time, I can still have the BR done this summer. As oposed to just waiting around.
What do you think?

Ive done so much research (since I was 15) that I know basically everything. The things im planning to bring to both the consultation and the gyno appointment is my list of questions and lists of physical pains and emotional stress. Also, im getting copies of all my deep tissue appointments and perhaps a note from my physical therapist. Any other suggestions?

I've debated about doing the breast reduction too, but I'm still unsure. I'm four years older then you and it seems my mom is pushing it more then me. Benefits would be nice...but this is also major surgery and yet more scars. (I had surgery when I was fourteen for something and have a scar that stretches around my bellybutton and down)Its an issue I still debate over.

All I can say is cross you fingers because most doctors will say after 25 due to the fact that breast have a habit of growing and growing (I had no boobs when I graduated and now I am going on 32 DD, which is IMPOSSIBLE to find...arg). I have a friend that is at J or something (last I talked to her she was size I and I know that she has grown past that) and she is 27. The doctor won't let her have a reduction until she wears the smae bra size for a year.
I ardently wish you the best. I am trying to decide if I want one or wait until after kids and they grow even more...

Wow I never knew they grew bigger. I just hear about all these women getting it done in their early twenties. I really couldn't even tell if mine have grown or not, I wear a DD but it dosen't fit as properly as bras should. I think I'm technically like an E or something.

One thing that I have found to be a wonderful thing is stepping back in time a bit. Corsets do not have to be worn to make you waist smaller, they can be worn to make you shoulders and back more happy about your breasts. They equally distribute the weight around yout chest so that all that weight isn't on those thin straps on your shoulder. They have lots of support and look wonderfully sexy. Obviously it is not something you would wear all the time, but they are WONDERFUL things for large breasts. Any large breasted girl that works rennaisance faire or victorian faire will tell you this is something that we have learned to love with a passion.
My breasts got huge due to BC. I gained a lot of wieght very quickly (60 lbs in three months) and most of it was in my boobs. I love them and have fun with them, but at the same time, boy do they get in the way. But yes, your breasts do continue to grow after highschool. In fact most women notice that their breast grow up to one full cup size after graduation. If you consult a good doctor they will reaffirm this.
I highly suggest when shopping around for boobs, talk to at least three esteemed doctors in the area and ask for recomendations of other doctors. if they are not confidant enough with thier work that they will not recomend someone for a second oppinion of someone who is thought highly of in the "reconstructive surgery" then watch out. A good doctor is always willing to let you shop around.

Yup, my breasts jumped from a 36D to a 38DD out of the blue in college at around the age of 23. Thank goodness they've stabilized since then!!

I was a 34DD when I was 17, but in college I actually kept getting bigger! I'm waiting until I have kids, though, because breastfeeding is very important to me. my dad disagrees with any kind of cosmetic surgery, but the weight is so disprportionate and uncomfortable that I have a very difficult time with it. it hurts my back and my bras all aggravate my eczema.

it's a big decision, but remember that it's your body and no one else should be making the decision but you and your doctor. good luck.

It's possible that EVERYONE will make you wait until your mid 20's at least, but a woman I know (who is older) just got hers and she's sooooooo happy with the results. But she also has no more growing to worry about in the future.
