Last night my mom told my dad when they went out to dinner that I needed a breast reduction. He was absolutly amazing, and said "definitly, thats not a problem" he was very concerned. She told him how I was bigger then her (shes a DD im a DDD) and when I took my bra off and showed her she was shocked and had no idea I had gotten that big (since I hide it so well). Im so happy that both parents are supportive and all go. Phew. Me and my dad just started to get close this year, so it will feel good to have him there at the hospital and to take some sort of care to me.

He even said that if insurance dosnt cover it, he will. That way, I can definitly do it this summer and make my surgery date the day of the consultation. Yay! My mom said that sometimes if there not doing surgery when you want it, but are needed a fresh start; Like off to college or wedding or something, they can make an exception. Crosses fingers* If thats the case.

I have this weird tingling sensation going from a knot in my back down my left breast and through my arm and fingers. I assume thats related to nerve damage. Does anyone else suffer/ed from that?

Sometimes if there is a lot of muscle tension in the neck/ upper shoulders the nerve can be compressed where it leaves the spine and gives that tingling in the fingers. It's something I've come across as a remedial massage therapist. Have you had an injury to the upper body? Or is it the erm, extra weight at the front?

no offence, but was this supposed to be posted to your personal journal?

i think there is a breast health community that might be more helpful with that question - i haven't experienced it myself. but i did just do neurology block in med school and tingling down into your fingers means that SOMETHING is affecting either your radial or ulnar nerve (ulnar nerve if it's your pinky/ring finger). it's worth seeing your doctor about.

Congrats on getting half way there. Finacial support is the hardest thing to get for a BR. Now to find a good doctor and you are set. Then you can litterally take a load off your shoulders.

#1 definitely ask around if you know anyone in your area who has had a reduction before. See a doc who you & your family are comfortable with. They're not just solving a physical issue that you're having, but also kinda re-building new boobies that you're gonna have to be comfortable with for the rest of your life. My sister is getting a nose job to repair a deviated septum and has been through 2 doctors already because she was a little uneasy about the first ones.

#2 My coworker was having a tingling sensation running from her neck through her arm & fingers and it turns out that she had a pinched nerve from horseback riding. You can pinch a nerve brushing your hair or sleeping funny or just about any way. She ended up going to a chiropractor a few times and finally they cracked her in just the right spot and the nerve released. No more tingling. But I'd also get a referral from your doc. Chiros can be a blessing or a total nightmare. If you go that route get one that a medical professional who you know pretty well trusts.

I guess he had some before & after photos set up in albums in his "consultation room" but she would expect a trustworthy man to have them proudly framed & displayed in the lobby & waiting area. I don't know if she's RIGHT but if her gut says no, she's probably smarter to look elsewhere.
