I'm 18. I've had my periods since I was 13. I use tampons always.

My problem is that i'll bleed for 3-4 days it will trail off; and then i'm dry for 2-4 days [thinking i've totally finished] then it comes back strong and i bleed again for another day or two. It's really irritating me; most of the time my cycle is regular but i do suffer strong cramps as i start.

I can suggest to talk to your doctor or herbalist about using Vitex or dong quai because they might be able to glue your period together and easy with the cramping. My other sugestion is looking into a cup if you use tampons exclusively because they will not dry you out and you can wear one during those days when you think that you have finished, but you think that it may come back and you don't want to be surprised later. Unlike tampons, you can wear you cup all the time since it doesn't absorb but hold. Very vagina happy.

I don't know how I lived with tampons! I just recently got mine and it is so comfortable and so useful that I often forget that I have it. And not paying for tampons again, one word: whoot!

The MoonCup would be the best bet for you, and it is not 30 quid, but 18. If you think about the amount of money that you send in three months on tampons, and the cup, if used and kept correctly lasts ten years, suffling money for the short buy seems worth it.

if its something thats been happening since you were 13 I dont think I would be too concerned if you havnt run into a serious problem yet. Have you talked to your family doctor/gyno?

And also, what is a regular cycle anyway? Everyones is different.

it's nothing abnormal or bad, but if it is annoying for you, i'd say either hit the hormonal birth control, which ought to fix it right up, or if you don't like that idea then you can always just continue to wear pantiliners.

i obsess about ruining underwear so i wear pantiliners every day regardless.

The exactly same thing happens to me, 2 days and then stops completely for 1 day and then comes back for one day. I wouldn't stress too much.

I get the same way with the stopping and the starting... I just started buying Natracare Pantyliners and wearing those on my supposed "first days without period" knowing it'll come back and surprise me almost every time.
