Is the unpleasant what looks like blood mixed with discharge breakthrough bleeding? I'm at the end of my 2nd pack of OTC-lo, and I experience this for about a week before my real period and it isn't too comfortable. Has anyone ever had this before and is it just the result of me getting used to the birth control? Thanks.

Could be, yes--I got spotting after having been on the pill for awhile. (It's one of those side effects that can even pop up months after you've gotten otherwise adjusted to taking the pill. Go figure.) If it doesn't bother you, I'd say don't worry about it, and maybe mention it to your doctor the next time you're routinely there. Of course, if it does bug you, you could always try another brand/formulation of pill....
