Has anyone noticed more cramping when using a menstrual cup? This is my second period with my Divacup, and I seem to be cramping more. I used to barely cramp at all, but this time I'm having cramps 4 days into it. I'm not sure if it has anything to do with the cup or if it's just my body changing on me.

I didn't notice any change in the quality, if you will, of my period. Various user testimonials on websites selling or promoting cups have claimed that people find their periods shorter and less painful, so I was mildly dissapointed not to reap that benefit ;)

(off topic, but the only change I noted was a change in my attitude. For some reason, switching to the cup helped me lose my resentment towards menstruating.)

Well, I think some of it may be that I still have a little trouble getting it in far enough. I find myself having to push it up a little everytime I use the bathroom. I thought that might also be contributing to the discomfort.

I noticed it when I started using my Mooncup. I also noticed my flow got heavier -- but the tradeoff was that my period didn't last as long. I found that by making sure some air got inside my cup when I placed it (I let it come half-open before seating it) I reduced the suction and the cramping eased off.

yeah, I've noticed that happening a little bit, along with having to pee every ten minutes. It's not like that every time though; it varies, so I hope it's not prohibitive.

I get significantly *less* cramping with a cup than I do with pads or tampons. Go figure.
