*sighs in great relief*
May. 26th, 2005 09:25 pmSo my period came today, which is great because I had my first condom breakage as I was ovulating. This is the first sex that I have had since getting off BC. Very scary. The funny thing is the fact that it has come a week early to boot. I thought that it would be late, for sure, because I was stressing about the possible preggers and school.
Whoot whoot for me!
But it really makes me think more and more about getting an IUD. No hormones, because that is my I got off BC in the first place.
Question 1: In California, does PP do IUDs and are they covered by State Health?
I am going to be back in Cali after this term is over and want to get it done fairly shortly after my return so there will be no more worries like this last one. Just in case I see him while I am on vacation again.
Question 2: What will I be expecting other than the actual proceedure?
I know what they do and how it is done, but what I am wondering about is the consultation and the amount of time to execpt to wait between the consultaion and the proceedure. I know to think of a couple of days after it is done, but how long to I have to wait to get it done?
Thankyou girls! I know that you will help my queery.

Date: 2005-05-27 04:38 am (UTC)2) i have the Mirena - which is an IUD with a tiny (rice sized) piece of plastic on it that has encapsulated progesterone. i have a BAD time with hormones (suicidal is the best sympom i've had)... but the Mirena's hormone is local, not systemic... meaning there is enough to decrease the thickness of the uterine lining and cramping but NOT enough to effect your system as a whole. i love mine!
