I found out about it on the tele, because Canadian tv is quite wonderfully open.
It is not your usual 'self-help' book.

This is unrelated, but while we're on the topic, when I turned 13 my mom got me this book called "It's A Girl Thing." FREAKING HILARIOUS. Of course, at the time I was mortified, but in hindsight I wsa pretty entertained by it. It's all these tips for the 11-14 year old females on kissing and periods and bras and stuff. Really cute.
