I just joined this community, so I figured I'd say hello. :)

I have a question -- do you think there is any chance at all someone could be pregnant after taking several pregnancy tests (which all came out negative) and getting their period? This seems like a rather stupid question (correction it is), but I am a bit obsessive about these kinds of things. Plus, it never hurts to get someone else's opinion.

Oh...and is it possible for stress to delay your period? Because when I though I may have been pregnant, I waited a week until taking a pregnancy test and the day after I did (it came out negative), I got my period. Another example is, my friend was two weeks late, and she took a pregnancy test and got her period. Anyone know if this is just a coincidence or that stress can cause it to be late?

Hi, and welcome. :)

in answer to your latter question, stress can certainly knock your cycle off kilter. in fact, it seems that quite a numbe rof folks here in the hut recently have been having the same tardiness/skipping symptoms.

Stress can most certainly cause you to be late. I had nearly the same experience earlier this year. I had been stressed out around ovulation time and ended up a few weeks late. Then of course I became stressed about being pregnant, but the day after I took a test (that was negative), my period started.

Observation: A lot of girls are late this month, it seems. I've never seen so many commenting on it in the Hut until now. I think the events of the past month have got us all messed up.

I had a friend who took three tests, all came up negative, still had her light period, a little irregular, and now has a beautiful little boy. It is possible, just rare. Dunno if she did the test wrong somehow or what ..

What your friend had may not have been a 'light period'. Shortly after I got pregnant with my second daughter, I had what could have been called that... went to the emergency room and they did a ultrasound. It was some sort of bleeding from [what was to become] the placenta. They told me it was nothing to worry about, tho ... and she's two now. :)

When I went to take my pregnancy test the nurse said that I would probably get my period afterward. Well, I still haven't, and I took the test 3 weeks ago I believe. I wasn't worried about anything, and I'm still not, but my symptoms were more from coming off BC pills a few months prior.

Stress can DEFINITELY throw it off. Thrown mine off more than once. It's a pain, but yes it happens.
