Hi I was wondering is anyone knows what kind of places carry the herb, "Rutin".
I had my first condom breaking yesterday and now I'm paranoid beyond belief.
I don't even know if it was technically "fertile intercourse" simply because my period is so outta whack right now that I don't know when fertile is anymore.
I've been reading up on the herb for about 24 hours and other ways of stopping pregnancy from (accidental!) fertile intercourse.
I made a trip to the store right after it happened and bought a bunch of Vitamin C tablets only to find that they contained bioflavinoids(along with the necessary ascorbic acids).

First question, do bioflavinoids really interfere with the ascorbic acid's supposed ability to terminate a pregnancy?

Second question, is picking up rutin as easy as a quick trip to wild oats?

I would still go and talk to someone at your closest Planned Parenthood (if there is one there) or a doctor. No idea on your age, but depending on it you may be able to get EC. Also I would discuss with the doctor about possible modes of birthcontrol available to you so you don't have to worry about it in the furture.
I had my first condom breaking (I consider myself quite lucky after all these years...) a little while ago and it did not result in being preggers. It scared the bejeezus out of me becuase I have recently gotten off BC. Luckily I am at an old enough age that non-hormonal BC, like the IUD, is an option. It is much harder at a younger age.
For your irregular periods BC will help you with that or you can look at herbal alternatives (which are not BC) that condition your uterus so that you have more regular cycles. I use Chaste Tree (Vitex) which you can find at most vitamin shoppes.
Good luck hun!

Not to scare you any more than you are...

One more note: Make sure that you get STD tests done and in six months an HIV test as well. Never hurts to be overly safe, just in case. Any time you have unprotected sex, as a condom breaking is considered for all intent andpurposes, you are at a risk. Taking care of it now by checking now greatly reduces further risk.

i don't think that will really be a problem at planned parenthood. all the kids i've known to go there have been treated well. i checked your userinfo and if it's correct you're almost 18 anyway so i wouldn't worry to much :)

I do not think that is an option for her. It would be a long drive, indeed.

I know a couple of people that got Plan B from Planned Parenthood and were "under age." They didn't have any problems with the place or obtaining it, it was just making sure that their parents didn't know where they were going. I don't think they would turn you away for any reason? I would hope not...

I would guess a minor crossing the border is more of a problem than going to PP for a 'scrip. ;)

I know my local vitamin store (not like vitamin outlet but it's an all-natural kind of a place) has Rutin. It's not really something you'll find at Walgreens tho.
