I called the gyno yesterday about my period usually starting at least a week before it is supposed to and she told me thats normal when you start exercising. She said once my body gets used to it, it will go back to normal. How is bleeding and having cramps for half of the month normal? I don't see how it is. To me it seems like my pills aren't working, if they are supposed to help regulate periods. I wanted a new kind of pills and she told me that my body will adjust to the change in time so I should stick with the ones I am using now. My period has been coming at least one week, usually a week and a half early. I have been extremely stressed out lately, exercising, and eating better since March. Has anyone else had this happen to them?

are you using the pill as birth control, or just for period regulating reasons?

if just period regulation- just go off of it! au naturel is arguably healthier than chock full of fake hormones.

and if you take it for birth control purposes, perhaps the pill is just not for you. some people just don't function properly on it, myself included. don't subject yourself to miserable periods unnecessarily. there are other forms of birth control- i recommend doing a little online research for yourself. but if you aren't happy being on the pill, your doctor should listen to that, and not just tell you to keep taking it anyway.

but that's just me.

also, if you recently went on the pills, have you considered that perhaps THEY are contributing to your stress level? I found in my experiences with birth control pills was that they made me more irritable, moody, stressed, and generally on edge.

just a thought.

i think your body is probably used to the exercise, but not with added hormones :D

if the periods continue to suck though, seriously, consider other bc options. you shouldn't have to suffer. that sucks, man.

good luck!

if you're 'extremely stressed' and have changed your exercise/eating habits, then i am not surprised your periods are doing wierd-and-wonderful things.

chances are, when the stress goes away and your body adjusts to the changes in routine, your period might settle down.

When I get extremely stressed, the stress manifests itself in *many* physical ways, including messing with my menstrual cycles. Since you've also changed the way you eat and exercise, I wouldn't be surprised if your body is freaking out at the moment. (And, since you've been on the pill since June without a problem 'til now, they're probably not the culprit.) I'd bet your ob/gyn is probably right that your body will straighten itself out, although I know that isn't too helpful in the short term. :-/
