Hi

I am on the pill and I am just finishing up my week of menstruation. I am on my first day of pill taking, and I was just wondering if I take two pills today will it go away?
I really really want to stop.

I wouldn't mess with your pills if I were you. You need to take them as directed if you want them to work as a contraceptive. If you are taking them for another reason, and/or don't care about getting pregnant, go for it.

It should go away after the first or second day of active pills, it does for me anyway.

be aware that 2 pills can make you sick. as in vomiting and diarreah. it always gave me deathly nausea when i forgot and had to take 2 the next day.

It probably won't make your period stop and it might make you sick, on top of it all. Now that your period is winding down, just let it finish.

Taking more hormones will not make the uterine lining shed any faster.

instead of trying to make your period stop (and therefore being short one pill at the end of the month), why don't you just be extra careful on protection? use a tampon and a pantiliner with wings and i can't imagine you'd have to worry at all.

Taking two pills will probably not make your period go away, and it will make you short a pill at the end of your cycle. Also, it's likely to make you feel hormonal, whatever that means for you - for me, it means I'm bitchy and nauseous.

Over time, the pill should make your periods lighter and less annoying, but this will only happen if you take the pills as directed. If you mess around with them, the results will be unpredictable.

Agreed--and by not having a pill to take at the end of your cycle, you're compromsing your protection from pregnancy as well.

Taking two pills at once won't make your period stop faster--the only thing it'll do is possibly make you physically ill and then compromise your protection at the end of your cycle. If having a period is such a problem for you, you should consider switching to a form of contraception that reduces the number of periods, such as Depo-Provera, NuvaRing (by stacking), Seasonale, Ortho Evra (by putting on a new patch rather than taking a week off), or a monophasic pill (by skipping the placebo week). That way you can skip your periods without making yourself ill or compromising your protection.

as others have said, it won't stop your period sooner. you'll likely feel kind of ick, and still bleed.

just wait it out. if you do, you'll have better results from the pill in general.

exercise. i heard it makes your period hurry up a bit, and it helps cramps of course.
