Pelvic exam craziness.

monday i went to a clinic where they put me on a different kind of birth control [ortho cyclen], which i now have to take 3 times a day for one week, skip the placebo, and then start on another pack but this time take only 1 a day.

anyway, i was bleeding heavily and all so i really hoped they wouldnt do any exam but the lady said she wouldnt feel right if she just let me walked out of there without at least trying to check things out. i was grossed out but i let her do that. this was my first one and at first it tickled but that quickly stopped and gave way to pain, of course.

but here's something crazy: i think yesterday but mainly today, i've been having this pain down there. not near the vaginal opening but in the vicinity. it just really hurts and in the shower i tried touching it to see what it was and i couldnt figure out where it could have come from. then i remembered how the nurse that gave me the exam had really long fingernails and i remember thinking how they were hurting. so i think wherever they were digging in, that spot must be swollen or something. or maybe i'm just paranoid or crazy or something. but i think that's what happened.

i dont know. anyone else ever get examined by well-fingernailed doctors/nurses? haha. it's some crazy stuff.

perhaps it's from somewhere the speculum was pushed against?

i dont know. the speculum seemed to be placed farther below where i'm experiencing the pain. but i'm not putting that possible reason away. i dont really know what happened. i just want it to get better. haha

Haven't had an exam like that, but I know how very delicate all our stuff is. I slept crooked once recently in underwear (don't normally wear undies to bed) and rubbed a sore spot on the side of my labia that swelled up like a goose egg. It simply could not be touched and took a week to go away. So I imagine a fingernail poke--even gloved--could raise a welt or make a sore spot at the least.

yes, that area is mighty sensitive. i bet your sore spot must have hurt like all hell. at least you're better now. i hope my problem doesnt last for a week or get any bigger.

if it does last longer, you might need to call your Dr's office back and explain the problem and see what they suggest (they might want to see you again). But I hope you feel bettah real soon!
