I apologize if this question doesn't belong here, but I was just wondering if this was normal. I always use tampons when on my period, but I've noticed that a majority of the time only half of the tampon is... soiled (sorry for lack of better wording), and the other half is clean. I mean left and right half, not top and bottom. Has anybody else experienced this or have any ideas to why this may be? Thanks!

Happens all the time with me- it may just be the way that you sit or move, or something. Dunno. Just saying that it's normal.

happens to me ALL the time.
it's very frustrating cause I obviously need a lighter absorbancy tampon, but the only manufacturer that makes LITE that i can find here in canada, is Tampax, which i LOATHE... !
Anyway you probably need a lighter absorbancy too... i can leave mine in for 8+ hours and it will still be pretty dry.

Have you tried ordering them online from e-pharmacies from the states? (Walgreens and CVS both have websites, as well as a lot of web-only places)

that used to happen to me all the time, and it seemed like the blood was flowing around the tampon and only partly hitting it and I usually ended up leaking. now that I primarily use a cup and only use tampons for the first two nights of my period because of sleeping posture combined with overly heavy flow (or if I'm just feeling too lazy to fuss with the cup the next morning :P ) I don't seem to have this problem anymore. Weird, isn't it, since it was because of this kind of leakage that I started using the cup in the first place.

as for speculating why this happens? vaginas aren't tampon-shaped so I guess the blood sometimes finds a way around flowing down the walls.
