Okay, I have a really strange situation going on that hasn't happened before and I'm starting to get worried. I'll cut the situation due to personal disgust :)


Okay, so in the week of June 17-22 my bf and I had sex only once and with a condom. Then, on the 22 I recieved what I thought was at the time my period. Very odd though because I've been getting my period on the 3rd of the month or sometime between the 2-4. Now I say I thought I had my period because it wasn't red and it wasn't liquidy or any of the typical thing. My pad was covered in like a dark brown stain that I thought resembled poo even though I had none of that going on. Nor did I have cramps or moodswings. This only lasted a day though.

Now I wonder what that was. It's already the 5th of this month and I have yet to receieve my little friend although all Saturday and Sunday I had my typical moodswings,stomach pains and bathroom emergencies (apparently my whole family seems to er-produce a lot of feces before our period). What I had on the 22 only lasted a day and I wonder if it's because I went out of the country for the weekend or what. Also, I wondered if it had anything to do with the fact that it was the first time we had had sex (but not oral etc) within the last 3 months so maybe that brown stuff was pushed out somehow?

I really have no idea and I'm starting to get worried. Has this happened to someone else before? Is it normal?..Am i going to get my period anytime soon like I was supposed to or was that it?? Any advice would surely reassure me!

i'm guessing the brown stuff is old blood. it might just be because you had sex for the first time in a long while.

as for the lateness, as has been mentioned before, stress can do funny things to a woman's menstrual cycle. i'd suggest waiting for a week, if it still hasnt arrived then speak to your GP/nurse?

i'm also guessing that the brown stuff is probably old blood. if so, sometimes strange things happen with periods and i really wouldn't worry about it.

if you are extra worried about this whole sex thing and can go about getting on 2 methods of birth control, that would probably be best to ease your mind. in the meantime, your period isn't that late and may be out of whack. i'd give it at least another week to show up before worrying.

this past period, I also started the symptoms when I expected my period to start, but the blood didn't arrive for 4 days.

I'm not a doctor, and I haven't experienced your exact sequence of events, but my hunch is that you're okay :)
