Is it common?? No. Does it happen?? Yes. Although it does happen, you should place a call to your doctor on Monday to ask what he/she wants you to do about it. Chances are they won't want to do much... if the amount of blood if very small and is not accompanied by pain or a fever. Here are some of the things that might cause small amounts of blood... 1) a small tear in the vaginal tissue (often caused by sex or tampon use). 2) some residual bleeding from your last period. Those are the most common reasons... I would NOT be scared or worry about it excessively. These things turn out to be normal 99.5% of the time. It's definately not worth ruining your weekend worrying about. :) If, however, the bleeding picks up, is acccompanied by pain, you develop a fever, or you just FEEL that something isn't RIGHT...call your doc and see what they have to say.
