Newbie here :) A little bit of background info. I'm a 19 year old female currently attending Hillsdale College and I've been on the pill for about 3 months. My question is, this past time, I've started my period halfway through the scheduled time (on about day 10 and again on about day 18). Is this normal? Am I supposed to take the period pills during these times? Take no pills at all? Help?

Kim :)

sometimes it takes a while for your body to adjust to the hormones. i'd suggest taking the pills as you're supposed to, and talking to your doctor/nurse.

Right now you're trying to train your body to deal with these pills. If you keep doing what you're doing, eventually your bod will submit, but if you change your perscribed routine you're not convincing that little reproductive bit that it needs to straighten up and fly right.

It's kind of like when you start school in the fall and have to start waking up early again... the first few weeks are really hard and you may oversleep, and you may be really tired all day, but eventually you get used to the routine. Those pills are like little alarm clocks every day training your hormones to wake up and get moving. Eventually your girly parts will get used to it and start doing what they should. If you start skipping a week of pills to get to your placebos or whatever, you're teaching your body to prepare for chaos rather than getting it to settle into a schedule.
