Stress CAUSING periods?!
This will be half rant, half "has this ever happened to you?"

So, I was expecting my period around the middle of the month. Then, these past couple of weeks I've been HUGELY stressed about going off to college and having to take out a $5,000 loan, on top of my government loan. Also about moving, signing up for classes, getting a job, etc. On top of that, I've been having headaches and sore throats, signaling a cold. Last night I woke up in the middle of the night and couldn't get back to sleep for about an hour for thinking about everything from money to my wisdom teeth. So...with all this stress, plus the cold, I'm expecting my period in, oh, say, December. BUT, surprise surprise, it shows up today, a week and a half early! Very strange indeed!

Very annoying, too, as my divacup hasn't arrived yet and I was hoping to have it by this period to work out any issues BEFORE I go to college. Plus I don't have any of the cloth pads I'm making done yet. So, it's back to the old plastic standard :( Hopefully I'll be able to get a pad done for use tonight, though.

i can see that. I last had my period on the 12th of July, and I just got it on Monday. Which is weird since it's been "normal" for over a year. But it was all gross. It was like my uterus exploded. LOL. Yeah i've been all stressed out because of work, I had a new promotion and stuff, so I can understand that.

It was gross! I got up to go to the bathroom when I woke up and then it just... came out. It was disgusting.

Once, the stress of surgery on my body started my period early. My doctor said it is pretty common, in stressful situations.

In addition to the fact that I discovered an allergy to Kotex and some other typical pads/liners, I also didn't like the idea of pitching all of that plastic, so I started using Natracare pantyliners maybe 8 months ago. What a difference! They're super velvety soft, non-bleached, non-dyed, non-plastic, all cotton disposables and they aren't really any more expensive than Carefree or whatever other brands there are.

They're pretty good when you're in a pinch (as you seem to be) and they also make organic tampons with and without applicators if that's your thing. I found them at the local "healthy exposure" store (maybe $3 for 30 liners) and what's nice about them is that you don't go thru them as fast as normal ones. I used to find that with plastic-y ones I was changing them even when they were still dry because they would itch if I used one for too long. With these cotton ones, I can wear the thing as long as it's still dry and it never irritates my skin.
