Does anyone have any information about how much abortions cost?

Sorry if this question doesn't belong here.

There's a pretty wide range of answers for that, which would include geographic information, whether or not you have insurance, how far along the pregnancy is, what kind of anesthesia is used, the method of termination, and so on.

I live in the Chicago area, too. Mine was about 350, but I didn't go to PP. You can always call around for prices.

The place I went to didn't offer the pill. I've heard that it costs more because there are more doctor visits involved.

I also remember that this clinic took insurance. If I can find the name, would you like me to email it to you?

it depends on how far along you are... i would recommend looking at Planned Parenthood (http://www.plannedparenthood.org/pp2/portal/medicalinfo/abortion/) or there are some great communities here on LJ-- [livejournal.com profile] abortioninfo has a lot of information.

I highly recommend Taking Charge of Your Fertility (http://www.ovusoft.com/).

I just started reading it myself- my sister-in-law recommended it to me.

It's a great way to understand your cycles better.

And charting online is so much easier than using the pages in the book.

I'm not a member of this community, but I used to work at Planned Parenthood, and (though you probably already know this if you went to the link above) all of their procedures, tests, etc. are offered on a sliding fee scale, meaning that they won't charge you $400 if you can't afford that -- so don't worry about the cost too much.
